The answer would depend on which Kermit program you are using, and which
version of it, on which kind of computer running which operating system and
version.
In recent versions of Kermit 95 (for Windows 95, NT, and OS/2) you can
specify that a given file is to be sent ahead of any print job. This file
can contain anything you want: a "burst" (cover) page to identify the job as
yours, or printer-specific commands (e.g. PCL, PostScript) to configure the
printer in some desired way, e.g. compressed or landscape format, etc. You
can also specify a string to be sent to the printer at the end of a job,
e.g. to take it out of compressed mode or whatever.
